The map has been used in the research of fishing practices and marine health in Malaysia; led to the development of marine protected areas in the Philippines; led to new understandings of coastal development in Sudan; developed programs to manage threats to marine and coastal conservation in Cambodia, and used to develop transboundary governance policy in Thailand. The Interactive Map has also been featured in the many peer-reviewed publications.
